McConnell Irish Dance

Cumann Rince Náisiúnta (CRN)

McConnell School of Irish Dance is a registered member of Cumann Rince Náisiúnta(CRN), based in Dublin, Ireland. Our students compete in CRN's Open Platform Feis (competitions), which take place at the Regional, National, and World Open levels.

Dancers compete in 5 Solo Levels of CRN  Bunghrád, Ullmhúchán, Meanghrád, Ardghrád, and Craobhghrád

  • Competitions are offered for all ages and abilities, including adult students.
  • Team competitions include all traditional figure dances and modern choreography.
  • All dancers are welcome to compete in our Open Platform Irish dance competition, regardless of school, organisation or affiliation.

McConnell School of Dance is a proud host of the CRN Canada Feile and the CRN Canadian Open Championship, Manitoba's only Open Platform Irish Dance Competitions.

Digital Feis is an on-line organisation which offers dancers the opportunity to compete and advance levels without the burden of travel.

  • Videos are submitted by the school and dancers register for private video taping sessions where dancers solo routines are rehearsed, taped, and then submitted for adjudication.

Digital Feis provides feedback, placement, and medals to competing dancers and all results count towards their CRN Levels.  Digital Feis results must be submitted to CRN through McConnell School of Dance within 5 days of the digital feis.  Unlike CRN competitions, dancers are only permitted to compete in 1 level with Digital Feis.
