Irish Dance Camps

McConnell Dance Camps are a great introduction to Irish Dance for new students who would like to try out classes.  We offer half-day Mini Jig Camp for ages 3 - 5.  For new students, we have a Youth full day camp which is a great introduction to Irish Dance.  For returning students, our Youth or Competitive Intensive camps offer the option of recreational or intensive competitive training.  Summer camps help all dancers build skill, technique, and accelerate learning in a fun, energetic and social atmosphere!

COMPETITIVE INTENSIVE:  July 10 - 14

MINI JIG CAMP

  • Aug 14 - 18th
  • Ages 3 - 5
  • 9:30 am - 12:00 pm
  • $150 plus GST, early bird discount $130, register by June 1st

Half-day dance camp for children 3 - 5 years old.  This camp combines Irish dance, music, song, and fun, cultural crafts activities. 

What to wear?  Comfortable dance clothing to allow movement such as tights, leggings or dance pants, shorts, dance skirts, bodysuits, athletic tops, or t-shirts.  Long hair should be tied back. Limit jewellery for safety reasons 

Shoes?  For those who have them, Irish soft shoes, ballet slippers, or gym shoes are ideal, but not necessary.  There's no need to purchase footwear for camp, dancers are fine to use socks.

What to bring?  Water bottle, snack , outdoor shoes, hat, and sunscreen (if desired)  Please send outerwear for outdoor play, if weather permits.

YOUTH IRISH DANCE CAMP

  • July 17 - 21
  • Ages 6 - 14
  • 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
  • $300 plus GST, early bird discount $275 register by June 1

Full-day dance camp for ages 6 - 14.  This camp offers plenty of Irish dance, technique and training, combined with Irish music, song, and cultural activities (learn to play the bodhrán, tin whistle, Celtic design or embroidery)

What to wear?  Comfortable dance clothing to allow movement such as tights, leggings, yoga or dance pants, shorts, dance skirts, bodysuits, athletic tops, or t-shirts.  Long hair should be tied back. Limit jewellery for safety reasons 

Shoes?  For those who have them, Irish soft shoes, ballet slippers, or gym shoes are ideal, but not necessary.  Please bring indoor runners for physical training activities.  There's no need to purchase footwear for camp, dancers are fine to use socks.

What to bring?   Water bottle, healthy lunch, 2 snacks (morning & afternoon), outdoor shoes, hat, and sunscreen (if desired)  Please send outerwear for outdoor activities, if weather permits.

COMPETITIVE INTENSIVE CAMP

  • July 10 - 14
  • Level 1 - 3 (1:30 - 5:00 pm)
  • Level 4 - 5 (9:00 - 12:30 pm)
  • $475 plus GST, early bird discount $450, register by June 1

Half-day intensive competitive Irish dance camp for Level 1 - 3 and Level 4 - 5.  This camp is highly recommended for all competitive dancers as it provides an excellent opportunity to improve style, technique, and learn new and advanced material

What to Bring?  Soft shoes, hard shoes, and dance trainers are required. Water bottle, snack, and notebook.  Long hair should be tied back. Limit jewellery for safety reasons.
